Kingsley is a selective independent ISJC accredited day school for girls aged 2.5 - 18 and boys from 2.5 to 7 years. It has a long history of success in every area of the curriculum and its traditions and ethos combine to make it a happy and secure environment for its 600 pupils. The school is basically a Christian foundation but welcomes pupils of different faiths. Since 1884, Kingsley has upheld traditional values in a happy, purposeful and well-disciplined environment. It enjoys an enviable teacher:pupil ratio of 1:10 and every student is treated an as individual.
The Junior School provides a secure, well-structured and carefully balanced education for 140 pupils. Emphasis is placed on essential skills but all areas of the National Curriculum are covered in depth and opportunities are provided for foreign visits, field trips and many extra-curricular activities. SAT and Scholarship results are excellent.
Senior School provides a wide range of GCSE subjects including 3 separate sciences, 4 modern languages, Latin, Computer Studies, Drama and Dance. Academic standards are high with the success rate at grades A*-C always well over 90%. In the Sixth Form of over 100 girls a choice of 22 'A' level subjects is offered including Psychology, Computing and Theatre Studies. Most girls go on to University including Oxbridge.
Music, Drama and Dance flourish throughout the school and an exciting building programme in 1997 will provide a new Performance Hall. Sport is well catered for and pupils regularly represent Warwickshire. Kingsley boasts highly successful competitive riding teams which have won both the 1996 National Schools' Cross Country and 1996 National Jumping Championships. There is a wide variety of clubs and societies including a thriving Duke of Edinburgh's Scheme in which over 100 Gold Awards have been gained. An extensive range of field courses, educational exchanges and expeditions is organised in Britain and overseas. (e.g. in the Summer of 1997, 20 girls took part in a 'World Challenge' expedition to Zimbabwe and 10 students went to the Pindos Mountains in Greece for their 'D of E' Gold expedition.) Every girl can find something in which to participate with enthusiasm and success.
